From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brynhill Golf Course is a golf course on the south coast of Wales 11 miles outside Cardiff on the outskirts of Barry.
[edit] History
Established in 1921, it has over 750 members and is built on farmland which is known to have been a Roman burial site.
[edit] Course Layout
Part of the course runs adjacent to the nearby housing area of Highlight Park running around part of the circumference of it on Lakin Drive.
Part of the course was recently extended in 1998 so that the 13th and 14th holes are now characteristically built around the ruins of the seventeenth century Protestant chapel, Highlight Church. The current hole layout was designed by David Thomas famous for the Ryder Cup layout of the Brabazon Course at the Belfry. The course is maintained to an impressively high standard by Course Manager, Iain Grant.
