Bryn is a small settlement, in the Wigan Metropolitan Borough, Greater Manchester, in the historic county of Lancashire. It is often considered to be part of the larger town of Ashton-in-Makerfield though it is totally separate and forms a separate local council ward. Served by Bryn railway station, Bryn is home to the Three Sisters Recreation Area which has been created from three large spoil tips (slag heaps) which remain from Bryn's role in Lancashires Coal Mining history.

The 'Three Sisters' Recreation Area is located in Bryn and is the site of the famous Three Sisters Motorsport Circuit, which plays host to International Kart Racing events and to Motorcycle Road Race Meetings at clubman level. It is located to the north of Wales, between Liverpool and Manchester in England, as shown on map.

Bryn Hall is located in Bryn and is the former home of the Gerrard family (Lord Thomas Gerrard). One time 'safe house' for the English Roman Catholic Martyr, Saint Edmund Arrowsmith (Haydock) and also reputed to be the burial place of his remains.

The Park Lane Chapel (see Unitarianism), Wigan Road, Bryan, dates back to 1697, though 1662 is the year in which its congregation was founded. It is the oldest Non-conformist Chapel and congregation in the whole district. By the 19th century Park Lane was only one of nine non-conformist chapels in the area.
