Bryan Station High School, founded in 1958, is a high school within the Fayette County public school system in Lexington, Kentucky. The school was named for Bryan Station, a 1700's pioneer settlement. The school mascot is the Defender in reference to the defense of the settlement during the American Revolutionary War. The school's motto is Defenders today, leaders tomorrow. The building received a full renovation in 1979. Bryan Station is also home to a youth center.

Bryan Station has a state merit rating in six academic departments. This past two-year period, BSHS met its threshold for the KIRIS Accountability Testing. With a new grant from the city and a new state-of-the art building currently under construction Bryan Station plans move its status to the top of the state's academic high schools.

The Defenders support 15 different sports teams including football, basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming and track and field. The Defenders' football team has made three trips to the state championship game winning the 1971 2A title. The Defenders' boys track team took home titles in 1971, 1975, and 1979-83 while the Lady Defenders' track team won titles in 1976-79, 1981-82, and 1987-88.
[edit] Air Force J.R.O.T.C
Bryan Station is home to Air Force Junior Reserve Office Training Corps detachment Ky-041. This JROTC programs is one of the best in the state continuously winning the State's award for best AFJROTC unit. AFJROTC is an elective class in which student may elect to participate in a drill team (with rifles and sabers) and a color guard team. The color guard team presents the flag at all home football and basketball games. Every summer a select group of students will be able to participate in the state wide summer camp and compete against other AFJROTC units from around the state. Students show their skill in drill, room standards and AF knowledge as well as spending a weekend in the woods learning how to use a compass, map and shelter building skills.
Each spring the detachment takes a trip to a military point of interest to let students learn about military life and military experiences. Past trips have included Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX; Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL; Fort Carson, Peterson AF Base and the USAF Academy located in Colorado Springs Colorado, and Wright-Patterson AFB.

In the Spring of 1992, Bryan Station High School elected the first High School Council in Fayette County, a committee of principals, teachers, and parents. Students and other employees also serve as non-voting members on the council.

In 2004 Bryan Station was granted the right to start construction on a new school building. The school was finished in December 2006, and will be used starting in January 2007.
