[edit] Kenny Arena

Regardless of whether or not Kenny Arena was ever on the field for D.C. United, he is still credited as "playing" for D.C. It is common place in sportswriting to refer to those non-playing squad members as "players" on the team, whether or not they ever get into a match. Reference the numerous articles about the current U.S. World Cup roster and they ALWAYS mention that Kasey Keller will be playing in his fourth World Cup, when in fact he never appeared in a game in the 1990 Cup. See this link for what i'm talking about [1]. We can't diminish the importance of being a reserve by saying merely that he was "on the roster but did not play." It would be ok, i think, to say that he played for the MetroStars in whatever years, and that he was signed by D.C. United in whatever year and released in whatever year after not appearing in any matches. Batman2005 19:00, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

I've made an edit which makes this point moot, and the page for Kenny Arena himself handles it fine. Pbones 15:56, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
