Bruvik

Bruvik is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway.

It was created by a split from Haus on January 1, 1870. At that time Bruvik had a population of 2,062.

On 1 January 1964 the district of Bruvikbygda with 409 inhabitants were merged with parts of Haus, Hamre and Hosanger to create the new municipality Osterøy. The rest of Bruvik, with 5,264 inhabitants, was merged with Evanger and a part of Modalen to create the new municipality Vaksdal.

The village Bruvik is presently located in south-eastern Osterøy.
