Bruce Thornton (born on January 31, 1980 in LaGrange, Georgia) is an American football cornerback who plays for the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. He went to the University of Georgia. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 4th round (121st overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft. After being signed off the practice squad by the 49ers, Thornton has impressed Mike Nolan and the team by shutting down high profile receivers such as Marvin Harrison. He has made some crucial mental errors during games, but is a solid cornerback.
