Bruce Guthro

Bruce Guthro Born 1961 is a Canadian singer / songwriter, from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Guthro has a strong solo career, and in 1998 also joined scottish folk rock band Runrig, whilst still pursuing his solo career.

Guthro has released four solo albums:

  • Sails To The Wind, which had a very country feel to it, was released first and is no longer available.
  • Of Your Son was the second release, and contains some 'classics', such as the song 'Falling'.
  • Guthro was the third release and has a pop-produced and commercial feel about it, separating it from the previous two albums.
  • Beautiful Life is the latest release and again, differs in style from the rest of the albums.

Bruce has gained many awards, including several ECMA's (East Coast Music Awards), and was also host of Canadian TV show 'Songwriters Circle', on which guests included musical talents including the likes of Alan Doyle, from Canadian Band Great Big Sea.
