Bruce M. Botelho was born in Juneau Alaska, United States and is the current mayor of Alaska’s capital city.[1]

Bruce Botelho began his political career in 1989 when he was elected as mayor of Juneau, serving until 1991.[2] Then in 1994 he was appointed by the governor as Alaska’s Attorney General, a position he retained until 2002.[1] Recently in 2006, Botelho was elected as mayor of Juneau once again.[2]

The first job out of college for Bruce was in the Alaska Attorney General’s office in 1976.[2]

Attended school in Germany as a high school exchange student. Married to the former Maria De Guadalupe Alvarez, known as Lupita. Has two children, Alex and Adriana.[1] Bruce is an accomplished native folk dancer that has danced all over the world.[2]

Graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon with a BA in German Literature in 1971. Graduated from Willamette’s School of Law with a JD in 1976.[2]
