[edit] Graeme Souness pics

I see you've updated a copyright pic of the above with a free one. Could you please update the copright notice to the appropiate term as well? Also, if the original required credit, and this doesn't, please have a quick check of the titles to see if they need changing. (Personally I'd have uploaded it under a slightly different name, rather than as changing the licencing and credit info for an image of the same name) Regards, MartinRe 01:56, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Soccer-europe.com 23:50, 10 March 2006 (UTC) Please do not upload anymore of my images to wikipedia.

As you wish. BrownCow • (how now?) 23:54, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Patent ductus arteriosus.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Patent ductus arteriosus.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hunter 16:35, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Los Angeles category changes

Um, I noticed that you went through and changed the Elonka Dunin page from the Category of "Greater Los Angeles Area" to "Santa Monicans". I may have been born in Santa Monica, but I am definitely not a Santa Monican. I grew up in West Los Angeles. --Elonka 23:39, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, the way that Los Angeles is laid out, there are many different "sub-cities". West Los Angeles is considered different from Los Angeles, so in my opinion, Category:People from the Greater Los Angeles Area is probably the most appropriate (unless there's a Category:People from West Los Angeles that I missed?) It's a minor point though -- either of the Los Angeles categories is probably fine. --Elonka 17:19, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright

Hi,
You marked image:Fishknot.png as ineligible for copyright. Could you justify this? I think that, although the knot itself is public domain, the image is not. I've placed your talk page on my watchlist, so you may reply right here, to keep the discussion all in one place. --Smack (talk) 05:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, OK I see your point. I'll tag it as no source then. BrownCow • (how now?) 18:06, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Image tagging

You've lost me. Which image were you referring to? I have deleted images but I don't recall tagging them. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 17:32, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I'd forgottten all about those. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 18:03, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion

Regarding the article Image:466px-Hurricane Dennis.jpg, which you tagged for speedy deletion with the reason "This image is a redundant (all pixels the same or scaled down) copy of Image:Hurricane Dennis on July 7 2005 1550 UTC.jpg, in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not Commons), and all inward links have been updated (CSD I1)", I wanted you to know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This article does not qualify for speedy deletion because this is not correct, the other image you quoted is on Commons. If you still want the article to be deleted, please use the WP:IFD process. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 22:38, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] piako2 image

Hi, I am the teacher of the student who took the piako2 photo present on Hauraki Plains page. I didn't realise he did not include the source tag. I hope I have done this correctly. Goodwinzz(Talk) 03:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy of Image:Boatsinharbour.jpg

Unfortunately, neither "spam" nor "advertisement" are valid grounds for speedy deletion. As the image has no copyright information attached, it will be deleted within about a week or so. Please take a moment to check out Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. IceKarma 00:26, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Modiin view.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Modiin view.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page to provide the necessary information on the source or licensing of this image (if you have any), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 23:49, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

There is an information added "The immage taken from municipality official web site http://www.modiin.muni.il/ and it fits site policy. Can be found there in Hebrew only." Do you want me to translate site policy? What is an additional information I have to support to GDFL? Shmuliko 05:47, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

You are absolutely right. Thanks :-)

[edit] Terryrandell Comments

  • The two pictures you commented on I had forgotten to add the Copyright tag information. I later uploaded these pictures with the proper information under a different file name. Sorry for the inconvinence this caused you.

[edit] Haldane Pic

Hi HowNowBrownCow, you sent me a msg saying that the pic of Haldane was unsourced (Image:Haldane.jpg). I just looked at it again and there is a source URL given. And it is tagged. Please can you ctherefore clarify what you think is missing as I don't presently understand. Best regards, bunix 09:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi HowNowBrownCow, regarding your second message asking for the source, a website URL is listed if you click on the photo and see the description. I quote what it says: "This photo of Haldane was taken in 1914 and it is thus over 70 years old. All parties are now dead. This is in the public domain and can be found at variious locations on the web including: http://students.washington.edu/gw0/modernsynthesis/images/haldane"
Also the photo is clearly pre-1923 because Haldane was born in 1892, so would have been 31 in 1923; whereas the photo clearly shows him in his late teens or early twenties. Hope this helps. Best regards, bunix 13:53, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: image:R.parvifolium

Yes, it should be deleted. The name of the thing was wrong, so I re-added the image under the proper name ("V.parvifolium") and then left this one to rot 'cause I couldn't see how to delete it myself. Sorry for the leftovers. --JMax 20:34, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: image Peop0105schorr.jpg

Thanks for getting back to me about that image. It is © 2001 by Current, a print/online magazine that covers National Public Radio. I e-mailed Steve Behrens, the editor, and on 17 July he replied that I could use the image as long as I gave credit to Current — which I have done.

I'll go ahead and edit the image page to indicate that fact. --ChrisWinter 20:10, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Image:Simple LPM stock and flow.jpg

I still am not sure of the reason this diagram is a proposed deletion.

(NOTE: After looking harder at the two image versions in question, these may be the ones I first did before I learned how to use the GFDL-self macro. If that is it, please disregard the other discussion. Thanks.)

This diagram is a composite of syntactical approaches having a common subject area and stripped of specific attribution, all meant to impart a sense of what such models represent; identified as "Illustrative" to represent it as an abstraction. RDMudga 7 August 2006 19:30 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Image: GJeff

I'd acidentally sent it without the copyright info. I re-saved it under another name with copyright "TV screenshot", and thus has it appeared in its proper place. GJeff is a superfluous image which can be excised. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Srsrsr 14:39, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand why this image was marked for deletion I shot it myself! Banasko 15:19, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
