Browne Falls

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Browne Falls are a waterfall in Doubtful Sound, which is located in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand. In breathtaking scenery amidst temperate rain forest, the falls cascade 619 metres to the fiord near Hall Arm. Their source is a tarn which when full, overflows down the side of the mountain face (similar to Sutherland's source).

The falls are one of the two candidates for the title of New Zealand's highest waterfall. The other is another tarn behind Elizabeth Island which is also in Fiordland.

There are two other falls of note in Doubtful Sound itself - "Helena" and "Lady Alice".
