Broots (unknown if first or last name) is a fictional character on NBC's television series The Pretender. Broots is a computer genius able to break any computer code, unearth any file, and intercept all manner of communiqué. His life before The Centre is unknown, though he is divorced and has custody of his young daughter named Debbie. Broots is timid by nature but loyal to the two Centre staffers he works most closely with, Sydney and Miss Parker. He is is portrayed by Jon Gries.
