Bronko Nagurski Jr.

Bronko Nagurski Jr., born in International Falls, Minnesota, and son of the famed NFL football player Bronko Nagurski, was a star offensive lineman in the Canadian Football League.

After playing college football at Notre Dame University, Nagurski Jr. was drafted by the NFL's San Francisco 49ers in the 1959 draft, in the 10th round, 114th overall. He chose to play in Canada.

Starting his 8 year career in 1960 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Nagurski Jr. would be a 3 time all star and play in six Grey Cup games, winning three championships, in 1963, 1965, and 1967.

Later he worked for 35 years in human resources in the paper industry. In 1996 Bronko Nagurski Jr., then 69, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He and Beverly, his wife of 45 years, continue to make International Falls, Minnesota their home.
