Brockton, Ontario

The Municipality of Brockton in Bruce County, Ontario was formed on January 1, 1999. As of 2001, the population was 9,658. The area was 565.07 square kilometres.

It includes the former township of Brant, former township of Greenock and the community of Walkerton. Brockton's name was formed as an acronym of the three merged municipalities (Brant Greenock Walkerton).

Note to be confused with Brockton Village a neighbourhood and former town located in the west end of Toronto.
