home of the punk rock group the Angelic Upstarts, formed in 1977 at the height of the punk rock revolution local public house the jester will be celebrating its golden anniversary in 2007. All the street names in Brockley Whins are named after Australian cities this in recognition of the Australian architecht who designed the estate in the 1950,s. Also home of the great amatuer football player Len Smith who can still to this day claim to be one of the most prolific strikers ever (eat your heart out Alan Shearer)
