[edit] Athletics

Broadneck High School's athletics teams are the Bruins and Lady Bruins and their colors are maroon and grey, as defined by the school's first athletic director, Mr. Timothy McMullen. The school has won numerous state and local championships.

  • The current athetic director is Mr. Ken Kazmarek.
  • In 2002, a student led fan organization, titled the "Kazmaniacs" after the school's athletic director, was created to support Bruin athletics and, primarily, the basketball program. The Kazmaniacs were known for their loud cheers, and for often heckling other schools' players. Initially, the school provided T-shirts to the organization. The Kazmaniacs were forcibly disbanded in 2006 for showing poor sportsmanship, but former members dressed in black and filled the student sections in protest.
