[edit] Welcome to the WikiProject Catholicism 101!
Hello, Briancua, and welcome to the Wikiproject:Catholicism 101! Thank you for your generous offer to help contribute. I'm sure your input will be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy contributing here and being a Catholic Project Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to discuss anything on the project Talk page, or to leave a message on my own talk page. Please sign all your comments, and be bold with your edits. Again, welcome, and God Bless! -- MamaGeek TALK CONTRIB 13:56, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CST
I think that between us we should be able to significantly clean up/improve this page, but we need to agree on somekinda overall strategy. I think that the fundamentals contribution represented a serious improvement, by helping to draw all the elements together, and making it clear how the RCC understands and builds its ST. Without it the whole article loooks like a fairly arbitary set of rules and conditions. Lets talk about it on the Talk page a bit before we get into any more editing. [edit] KOC Note
Thanks for the heads up on the Knights of Columbus article... I'd be happy to help out, but I'm not sure what to do. Is there anything specific I can do to help? Clint 01:29, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pope Pius XII
Thanks for your comments. One question: do you remember the source for the fact that Pius distributed money to people when Rome got bombed? This was removed a long time ago by another user because there was no source provided. If there is a source, we also need a date for when this happened. Also some context. Pius performed many acts of charity during the war, some notable, some not. If he distributed a lot of money though, this seems notable. savidan(talk) (e@) 23:57, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think you'll find that I addressed all of your comments with the following exceptions: I really don't know how to follow up on this Knights of Columbus video and I don't have a book on me right now that talks about Pius's relationship with Japan. I'll see what I can do on these. As for Dalin's book, it was cited already, but I added a sentence linking to it. savidan(talk) (e@) 03:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vote in progress to move Counter-Reformation to Catholic Reformation
This move makes sense because Counter-Reformation implies that that the movement was against reform. Rather as a reform movement within the Catholic Church, it is most precisely known as the Catholic Reformation. This is now the more favored term in academic theological circles.
Please stop by talk:Counter-Reformation for the vote. Thanks, --Vaquero100 19:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] hi
But as I pointed out, I'm a heathen, and worse, an evil homosexual who'll burn in hell for ever if your church has its way. I'm just not interested in the topic, and I'm offended by the way the church has focused on people's genitals for the past century, and killed thousands (millions?) of African women because of the ban on condoms.
Having said that, I want your article to be in the best prose possible. Surely there are WPians who are sympathetic to the cause ... Have you tried researching the categories of WPians? What about other catholic-oriented articles—look at the history for each, and find good copy-editors. This would be an investment in your future WP contributions, too.

AndyZ may be willing. Fg2 is good. So is Ubercryxic. But these people may not appreciate my recommendation, and may have the same qualms as I do. Good luck. Tony 17:04, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] KofC
Hello, the KofC article is in very good shape and there's not too much copy editing to do. I worked on the intro so as to make it more readable, and I think it's stronger now. I did delet "family" and I apologise if that needs to be in there, though I think "fraternal service organization" covers it and the family aspect becomes apparent later in the article. Let me know if you have any questions regarding that. Murcielago 14:50, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Catholic devotions
Hey Briancua.
I just started the Catholic devotions article. It's not much yet, but it is a start. Thanks for your interest. --Vaquero100 17:18, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Categories in userspace
Hi! I noticed that in your scratchpad / draft / alternative article User:Briancua/list you have the categories still activated, so it's showing up in Category:Animals and a few others. Could I suggest that you deactivate them (by putting a colon before 'Category' in the link) until such time as the article is in the mainspace rather than the userspace? (As per WP:CG, "If you copy an article to your user namespace (for example, as a temporary draft or in response to an edit war) you should decategorize it".) Cheers, Ziggurat 01:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyrigh Violation!??! I am the one who wrote it all...
Regarding: Doug Obey on Wikipedia
Why on earth would it be a copyright violation if I am the one who wrote it??
I created the website (And wrote ALL of the content within it... )therefore I have every right to copy my own creations and use them as such on Wikipedia.
Please remove the copyright violation. I GIVE PERMISSION! (otherwise I wouldn't have posted it!)
Thank you,
Jason Stadtlander Stadtlander Designs (If you have any doubts, look at the bottom of the website... it says "STADTLANDER DESIGNS" at the bottom)
[edit] Theology of the Body
Thanks for the Theology of the Body section on the CC page, Brian. We desperately need a comprehensive approach to this teaching on WP. Maybe you or I should propose this on the collaboration page. Vaquero100 02:52, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I just saw that and voted in support of your nomination. Good going, Brian. Vaquero100 02:59, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pope John Paul the Great
Why did you remove every instance of Pope John Paul the Great? --Briancua 23:32, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- Because it's a redirect to the actual article, and there's no consensus in the world at large that this should be his title. You'll notice that I didn't touch the discussion of the subject in the article, since it was well-cited, and that I didn't mess with people's sandboxes. --SarekOfVulcan 00:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Well done!
Congratulations, Brian, I just saw that K of C made it to featured status! I know that was a big goal for you. Well done. Vaquero100 03:56, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lies My Teacher Told Me
How was the see also section to A People's History of the United States irrelevant? Like Lies, it focuses on parts of American history that aren't always talked about in your everyday classroom. Also, see [[Textbook#High_school|here]. Amazon.com's page for Lies also includes People's History in the "Customers who bought this item also bought" section. [1] It also says that 56% of people who get Lies also buy People's History. AK Press's page for Lies says "File alongside Zinn's People's History Of The United States". [2]. This page has People's History listed as a related book. Here are a bunch of comments people have made about Lies, and a few of them also mention People's History. I'm not the only one who thinks they are relevant to one another. I'm going to put it back in, but if you want to take it out again, feel free to mention it on the article's talk page (I have it watched). Thanks. [edit] link to Iranian
Hello, when you want to link to the article about something Iranian, please do not link to Iranian, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as Iranian people, or Iran, by writing out [[Iranian people|Iran]] or [[Iran|Iranian]]. Regards, Jeff3000 06:24, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weld Family
Thank you for correcting that point of information in my article on The Welds. I misunderstood the info in the William Weld article. I edited the later so others won't make the same error.
I see you have done work on several articles re: Greater Boston. I've been contributing in this area as well. You can see a list of my original articles on my user page. Not only might some of them be of interest to you, they are all very new and may not have been proof read by anyone other than me. It would be nice to have someone savvy about Boston and Norfolk County look at them. Happy Holidays. ◄HouseOfScandal►08:26, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
