Brian Keith Milan Jr [1] (born April 30, 1991) is an American actor, who is best known for portraying the title role in the Alfred Penniwinkle film series. His named is pronounced "my-lin."

Born in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania, a suburb just outside of Pittsburgh, Brian Milan is the son of Brian Milan Sr, a doctor, and Lori Caterino Milan, a lawyer. He is the first of two children; he has a younger sister named Alyson, born 1994. Brian Milan began attending a private school at age six.

Milan has always shown an interest in acting. It was first suggested to his parents by a family friend, who was a casting agent, that Milan audition for a small role in a Lifetime TV drama called Missing Child: The Joseph Aderine Story. Milan got the part in 1998 at age seven. He then went on to his bigscreen film debut at age nine in 2000; it was called Soup, in which he was one of two principal actors.

Milan's breakout role, which catapulted him to stardom was winning the title role in the film adaption of the popular fantasy novel Alfred Penniwinkle at age 12 in 2003. He went on to star in the film's sequel, Alfred Penniwinkle and the Alternia, in 2004.

With the Penniwinkle series over, Milan went on to film in movies such as Full Court Miracle (2005) and Billy (2005). At age 14, he was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for Billy; he did not win the award, but said he was very overwhelmed and proud that he was nominated for such a prestige honor.

Considered to be one of Hollywood's most promising newcomers, Milan is very busy at the moment. He is currently working on a project, which is due for release in the spring of 2006, and has quite a few more that have been announced.

Brian Milan currently attends the prestige preporatory school Shady Side Academy, which is located in his hometown just outside of Pittsburgh.

Admitting to being extremely competitive, Milan loves sports. He enjoys swimming, soccer, track running, and basketball. He has stated that his favorite sport is soccer. He currently lives with his family in Fox Chapel. Milan also loves animals and has a dog named Heidi and a chinchilla named Tasha.

According to Bop magazine, Milan's personal fortune has now exceeded US $32 million, placing him in the top five richest teenagers in the United States (heirs not included).
