British Expedition to Ceylon

In 1803 British forces attacked inland on Ceylon, taking Kandy in February 1803 but then losing it to counterattacking Sinhalese forces in June 1803. In 1804 British forces on Ceylon again took Kandy but were forced to evacuate the city later same year.
