This formation served in most of the major campaigns fought by the Allies during the war, from the Western Desert Campaign, the Italian Campaign through to the campaign in North West Europe. It was involved in the Siege of Tobruk, Battle of Gazala, Battle of El Alamein, the Tunisia Campaign, and the Capture of Naples.
