This unit was a World War II British Army formation.

In 1939 it was a First Line Territorial Army Brigade stationed in the United Kingdom. On 11th June 1945 it converted to the 21st Armoured Brigade . It served with the British First Army and the British Eighth Army during the battles in North Africa and Italy .
