Britain's Next Top Model is a UK reality television show that is broadcast on LIVINGtv. The second cycle has just finished being shown on Mondays at 9pm. Hosted by fashion model/presenter Lisa Snowdon, it is based on the top-rating series America's Next Top Model, created and co-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks. In March 2006 it was announced that Lisa Snowdon would be replacing Lisa Butcher as presenter for the second series, due to Butcher's wooden performance in the first series[citation needed].
In each episode, the programme's panel of judges - Jonathan Phang, Marie Helvin (Cycle 1) and Paula Hamilton (Cycle 2), plus a guest judge - assess task performance and potential. After each critique, one girl is eliminated and sent home.

[edit] And The Winner Is...
Final
The judges go through Lucy and Edwina’s portfolios and watch clips of the catwalk show. Edwina continues to criticise herself for her performance but the judges feel that they both looked like they had been modelling for years. Lucy is named Britain’s Next Top Model.

Along with this new contract, Lucy has also been given the cover of an edition of 2005's B magazine as well as a spread and interview with the magazine about life before the show and what it will be like now its finished.
Lucy has said about her job: "I love the creative aspect. You get to meet interesting people, people who think like you but also people who are completely different. You can be rewarded for being who you are, but also being able to act as someone else when required on a shoot or in a show." Retrieved from Lucy Emily Ratcliffe

[edit] And The Winner Is...
Final
The judges, along with Abigail and Lianna, watch clips of the catwalk show and both girls begin to cry, becoming very emotional over the thought of winning as their performances are assessed. The girls are then asked separately why they feel they should become Britain's Next Top Model and are asked to leave the room as the judges take one last look at the girls' best photos and ultimately decide who will be the winner. The girls return to the room and are told that the winner's final photo will appear on the screen in ten seconds... And Lianna is crowned Britain's Next Top Model.
Lianna has now won a modeling contract with one of Britains leading modeling agencies Models1. Lianna has also got a campaign for the new Ford Fiesta as well as the car itself and she will also appear on the cover of the October edition of Company magazine in 2006, with an interview about life before and after winning the show.
Lianna has said in one interview after winning the show: "Winning was always my goal, but at the same time when Lisa read out my name it was a total surprise.
"With each week I spent on the show, I became more confident and self assured.
"The thought of walking the catwalk as a professional model still feels completely unbelievable."
In October 2006 Livingtv revealed a third series would be commissioned due to the success of the Second series and Application Forms were available from the livingtv website.
[edit] Special airing in the United States
On December 13 and December 20, 2006, highlights from the first two cycles will air in the United States on The CW. This marks the first time a "Top Model" franchise from outside the US has been shown on American television.
