Bristol and Bath railway path
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bristol and Bath railway path is an approx 15-mile section of the UK's National Cycle Network. It follows the route of the Midland Railway from Lawrence Hill in central Bristol to Newbridge in Bath, closed during the Beeching Axe of the 1960s. The path consists of a 3m wide tarmaced surface which was built by cycling charity Sustrans between 1979 and 1986.
The path shares some of its route with the heritage Avon Valley Railway.
