Brisbane Bikers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brisbane Bikers is a loose-knit community of motorcycling enthusiasts based in Brisbane, Queensland.

The group currently (2006) has around 400 members riding a broad range of motorcycles from basic scooters to fast sportbikes, touring bikes and cruisers.

Founded originally as an email discussion list by Rohan Exton in 1999, members of the group exchange information about motorcycles, road conditions, motorcycle racing and a wide range of other related (and sometimes unrelated) topics.

Groups self-organise rides most weekends with 10-30 members typically taking part. Most rides have an agreed ride leader and a 'tail end charlie' whose job is to round up stragglers each time the ride changes direction. Most weekend rides include cafe stops, a pub lunch and a scenic destination. Participants then make their own way home.

Brisbane Bikers is not a club, so it has no membership fees, no club hierarchy.
