"Bring the Noise" is a single revisited by the thrash metal band Anthrax and Public Enemy (originally written and performed by Public Enemy in 1988 on the album It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back) released in July of 1991. It included the track of the same name - a collaboration with legendary rappers Public Enemy with which they bridged the gap between hip-hop and metal and paved the way for a host of other bands to mix the aggression and intensity of heavy metal with hip-hop. "Bring the Noise" is considered to be highly influential and one of the first rapcore songs. It ranked 12th on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs [1] . It is also featured in the video games WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW, WWE Day of Reckoning and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.
The first recorded use of the word dissing was in a 1987 version of the song that contained the quote, "A magazine or two is dissin' me and dissin' you."
