Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da funk was a musical that debuted in 1996 and closed in 1999 after running three years. At the 50th annual Tony Awards it beat out major contender Rent in several categories including Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design, Best Featured Actress and more. The show closed after it's 1135th performance on January 10, 1999. The Plot Description was, "A dance musical telling the story, through tap, of black history from slavery to the present."
