Brimington is a civil parish within the borough of Chesterfield in north east Derbyshire. The town of Staveley is to the west of this area and is easy to get to. A main road runs through parts of Brimington which is called Ringwood Road and connects car users with Hollingwood which is just down the hill from it.

In the parish of Brimington there are many schools that are either in Brimington or just out side it but easy to reach.
There are two main choices in where children go to infants school. They either attend Henry Bradley Infant School which is located on Princess St, Brimington or Brimington Manor Infant School which is up Brimington common at the top.
For junior school, the children either go to Henry Bradley Infant School, or Brimington Junior School. The newest building of which can be found on Springvale Road.
For secondary school most pupils make one of 3 main choices. Most of them go to either Springwell (sp) or Netherthorpe (sp). If a student doesn't go to one of the main schools from Brimington Junior school then they end up going to Meadows or another school.
For attendance of a college the students normally choose to go to Chesterfield college, which is a five minute walk from Chesterfield town centre.

Brimington library is a small library with a very well used local history section concentrating on the Chesterfield area. Brimington has a photographic collection of over 50 local images. The library can be found on Church Street.
The library has the many services happening in its walls. It has an area where people can sit down at a table and read up on books they have found, they have a large collection of both books and tapes which can be borrowed by a card holder. They also have 10 or more computers, which can be used by the library patrons to go on the web, either searching for something for homework or playing games, users on the computers can also print off at the cost of 10p per sheet. You can also check out a wide range of movies either on DVD or Video and a collection of CDs for all ages. The library also has a video phone as well as a Photocopyer and a fax machine.

- Monday: 10am - 12.30pm, 1.30 - 7pm
- Tuesday: 10am - 12.30pm, 1.30 - 5.30pm
- Thursday: 10am - 12.30pm, 1.30 - 5.30pm
- Friday: 2 - 5.30pm
- Saturday: 9.30am - 1pm
