Bright Red is the title of singer Laurie Anderson's sixth album, released by Warner Bros. in 1994.
The album continued the more musical/pop direction Anderson launched with Strange Angels. Produced by Brian Eno (who also co-wrote several of the songs with Anderson), Bright Red was actually a two-part album. The first half was titled Bright Red while the second half was entitled Tightrope.
Lou Reed performs with Anderson on the song "In Our Sleep" (and in the background of every other song). Another song, "Speak My Language", is a rerecording of a song Anderson previously performed on the soundtrack to the movie Faraway, So Close. "The Puppet Motel" was also featured on an interactive CD-ROM titled Puppet Motel that Anderson produced at about the same time as Bright Red.
