Brian Foster Radel (born circa 1981) is accused of murdering and conspiring to murder ex-girlfriend Rachelle Waterman's mother, Lauri Waterman, with co-conspirator Jason Arrant. He is currently on trial for first degree murder charges. The two 24 year olds are accused of murdering the 48-year old mother of two using a blunt instrument shortly after midnight on the morning of November 14, 2004. During the time of the murder Rachelle Waterman was attending a volleyball tournament in Anchorage, Alaska. The minivan in which the killing took place was subsequently burnt in an attempt to conceal and destroy evidence.

The murder is alleged to have been planned for several months.

Brian allegedly kidnapped Lauri from her home on a night when was alone. He allegedly forced her to drink a bottle of wine, in an attempt to stage a drunken driving accident. He then tied her up and drove her in her mini-van to a country road, where he met with Jason. The duo then tried to stage the accident, but the attempt failed. So they murdered her, put her in the mini-van, poured gasoline on it and set it on fire.

Brian and Jason have confessed to the crime and are expected to testify against Rachelle Waterman in her murder trial.
