Brian McBride is better known as one-half of Stars of the Lid. His first solo album, When the Detail Lost Its Freedom, was released by Kranky on October 31, 2005. McBride is also famous in the policy debate community as the inventor of the Kritik. He is a popular coach at the University of Texas National Institute of Forensics.
