Brian Lohan (born November 1971) is a former Irish sportsman. He played hurling with Clare in the 1990s and 2000s.

Brian Lohan was born in Shannon, County Clare in 1971. He was born into a family that had a strong hurling tradition as his father, Gus Lohan, played for both the Galway and Clare senior hurling teams. Lohan was educated locally and later studied at the University of Limerick. While studying there he played on the university hurling team winning a Fitzgibbon Cup medal. He graduated with a business degree and currently works as an auctioneer in Ennis & Shannon. Lohan played local hurling with Wolfe Tones na Sionna in Shannon and was quickly noted by the Clare inter-county selectors. He played at both minor and under-21 levels without success and made his senior debut in 1992.

Lohan was first acknowledged as a fantastic player in 1995 when he won his first Munster Championship, before helping Clare to win their first All-Ireland title in 81 years. He finished off the year by being named Hurler of he Year, as well as claiming his first All-Star Award. In 1996 Clare lost their Munster and All-Ireland crowns, however, Lohan collected a second All-Star award. In 1997 he won s second Munster title with Clare, as well as a second All-Ireland winners medal. He rounded off the year with a third All-Star.

In 1998 Lohan won his third Munster medal with Clare and the team were hot favourites for the All-Ireland. A bizarre series of events, however, led to Clare being eliminated at the All-Ireland semi-final stage after a third meeting with Offaly. In spite of thi Lohan was awarded with a third consecutive All-Star. In 2002 Clare were back in the ALl-Ireland final, however, they were defeated by Kilkenny. Lohan picked up another All-Star for his efforts. In spite of reaching the semi-final stages in 2005 and 2006 Lohan was never again to taste hurling success.

Following the 2006 Championship Lohan decided to retire from inter-county hurling with a reputation as one of the greatest full-backs of all time. His brother Frank Lohan continues to play senior hurling with Clare. He continues to play club hurling with Wolfe Tones na Sionna, with whom he has won two county titles (1996 & 2006) as well as a Munster Club Hurling title.
