Brian Haner

Brian Haner is a country singer and guitarist, and the father of Synyster Gates, the lead guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold. He is a writer, performer and studio guitarist from Los Angeles, California.

Brian Haner Sr. has done studio work for the past twenty years and played for some of the biggest names in the business, such as Frank Zappa, Kenny Loggins, Tower Of Power, and Rose Royce. He can also be heard playing on the track Sidewinder on Avenged Sevenfold's newest release, City of Evil. He is considered the "official acoustic guitarist" for A7X, and is commonly known by fans as Papa Gates.
Not only a musician, he is an actor, appearing in films such as Payback, Extreme Justice and The Granny. He has also appeared in television shows such as Eerie, Indiana, TV 101, Charlie's Angels, CHiPs, and The Love Boat.
He is currently writing songs for the country market and is a staff writer at Budgiesongs Publishing Co. in Los Angeles, California.[1]
