Colonel Brian D. Beaudreault is the commanding officer of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, United States Marine Corps.

Beudreault was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May of 1983 after graduating from the University of Massachusetts. In 1984 he completed The Basic School with honors and reported to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines. He served as a Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer and executed two unit deployments to Okinawa.

From 1987-1990, he served as the Guard Officer at Marine Corps Security Force Company Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. He then attended the Amphibious Warfare School in 1991 and graduated with honors. He subsequently deployed to Okinawa to join 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines and was assigned as Assistant Operations Officer. He then served as the Battalion Logistics Officer and was a Rifle Company Commander with the 15thMEU(SOC) during Operation RESTORE HOPE in Somalia. During May 1993, he was assigned as the Inspector-Instructor for K Company, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marines in Memphis, Tennessee.

Promoted to Major in 1994, he attended the Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas from 1995-1996. Upon completion of CGSC, he was assigned as the Ground Plans Officer in J3-PP at U.S. Central Command from 1996-1999. During his tour at USCENTCOM, he attended the Armed Forces Staff College and was designated a Joint Specialty Officer.

Transferred to Okinawa in May 1999 and promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in October, he was assigned as the Operations Officer for the 31st MEU (SOC) and deployed to East Timor in support of Operation STABILISE. During June 2001, he transferred to the 1st Marine Division and assumed the duties as Executive Officer for 1st Marine Regiment. He then commanded 1st Battalion, 1st Marines from April 2002 to April 2004 and deployed with the BLT as the ground combat element for the 13th MEU (SOC) / Expeditionary Strike Group One.

Colonel Beaudreault was promoted to his present rank in February 2005 while attending the Naval War College where he graduated with Highest Distinction and received an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies. He assumed command of the 15th MEU in August 2005.
