Breen-Phillips Hall or BP was established in 1939, named after brothers-in-law William P. Breen, class of 1877, and Frank B. Phillips, class of 1880. It is situated on the North Quad of the University of Notre Dame. The hall has 105 rooms and can house 206 inhabitants.
Although originally a men's dorm, Breen-Phillips now houses all women. They call themselves the "Babes" of Breen-Phillips, although that moniker is humorously contested at the yearly Keenan Revue sketch comedy show. The previous mascot was the Banshee. Breen-Phillips' largest yearly dorm event is the meal auction in which dinner dates with influential members of Notre Dame community are sold with proceeds given to charity.
Along with Cavanaugh, Alumni, Dillon, and Zahm Halls, BP housed naval officers-in-training during WWII. BP also housed the entire athletic department in its basement, including the office of Coach Frank Leahy.
Famous alumni include retired astronaut James Wetherbee (1974).
