[edit] Song Information
"Breathe on Me" was originally set as the fourth single from In the Zone. However, it was aborted and was replaced by "Outrageous". When filming the video for "Outrageous," she sustained a knee operation, causing her to cancel the releases of the next supposed-to-be singles, including this and "(I Got That) Boom Boom."
[edit] Music video
The video shoot was supposed to be directed by Sanaa Hamri in Chicago, Illinois. However, Spears was still in the hospital at the time, so the shoot was cancelled, and "Breathe on Me" and "(I Got That) Boom Boom" were released without proper videos. Her performance at the "The Onyx Hotel Tour" was used as the video.
[edit] Chart performance
Fans were clamoring for the release of more singles from In the Zone after "Outrageous" was only released in the US and Japan. "Breathe on Me" was still given very minimal airplay on the radio, but due to her upcoming nuptials and the lack of interest in further In the Zone promotion halted any progression.
