[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello Braue, welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips:
- Create a User page.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).
- Read the Policies and guidelines.
- Add yourself to the New user log.
- Ask questions at the Village pump or Help desk.
- Be bold! (to an extent)
- Use the Wikipedia:Show preview button
- Provide an Wikipedia:Edit summary.
If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks, Alphax τεχ 16:32, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] President Kirby
Why do you say that Kirby was never president of the SRC? I say that he was, citing this and especially this after two seconds on google. If you agree, can you restore the entry in the table?--SilasM 16:38, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, I guess you were right. I was under the impression that, while being very involved in the SRC, he hadn't been President, but you're right. I'll fix it up. Braue 22:31, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Christian Democrats
Hi Ben, thought you might be interested in a current edit war over at Talk:Christian_Democratic_Party_(Australia). When it dies down I might add a section on CDP-Green relations as this does seem to be a major concern of the CDP in the NSW-LC. Can you tell me if anything resulted from Nile's 'Good news for paedophiles' ad? I assume there was a complaint to the AEC, at least. Nick 17:03, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Australian federal electorates
I notice you've been adding this template to articles on federal electorates, and I was thinking that a template might not be the best way to go here. The template fills a whole screen at 1024x768, I'd hate to think how big it looks at a lower resolution. Also, a template should usually be finished before you start adding it to articles. Perhaps you should consider making a smaller template, or perhaps one for each state. The people at WikiProject Australian politics (which I see you've joined, welcome!) would have some good ideas about this. --bainer (talk) 22:29, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your contributions to the 2004 Australian Greens candidates article
Thanks for your contributions to and help with this article. It is now complete with information for all AG candidates. Peter C Talk! 20:49, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'm also interested in posting the names of Senate candidates when I get around to it. It shouldn't take up much space. Braue 23:56, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] anti pope
Hi.
You might be aware that there has been some contention around the use of userboxes. There has also been a new speedy deletion criterion added with regard to templates.
A box you are using, Template:User Antipope was recently tagged as such. I've removed the tag, but would ask that you {{subst:}} the template. You may also wish to contribute to Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes if you are not already.

[edit] Hi Braue
Nice talking to you today. I'll be exploring all the good stuff you've been working on. -- Newhoggy | Talk 11:06, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Greens MPs
I don't think there's quite so many that we need to cap it at a particular number - we'd only need to add a handful more and we'd have a complete list of MPs by time served (which IMHO would be more useful). Ambi 02:25, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Protecting your userboxes
Because of the current campaign against userboxes, it's pretty likely that many of your boxes are going to get deleted from their template space soon (especially your Flying Spaghetti Monsterism box, but in general, any boxes that could be considered to express a point of view someone might disagree with). These templates could very possibly be deleted in the next week or two. In fact, I see your "anti-pope" box is already tagged for deletion. The best (and really, only) way to protect those userboxes is to perform a "substitute" command on each one of them, which will put the code directly into your page, instead of calling on the template every time your page is loaded. That way, when the template is deleted, it has no effect on the code resident on your page.
In order to do this, go into your user page, and wherever you have a template, insert "subst" inside the brackets. So,
{{template name}} becomes {{subst:template name}}
and your userboxes will all take up residence on your page. Sometimes this makes the formatting funky, and will require some tweaking in the code to restore the layout of your boxes as they were before. If you have any questions about this, please drop me a line. Regards, JDoorjam Talk 23:21, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Titles in electorates
Hi,
Would you like to give feedback on the use of titles in electorates?

[edit] Australian Greens, a category of our own
Hi Ben, you are probably interesting in joining Category:Australian Greens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Australian_Greens), which is a rather lonely place at the moment ;). Grumpyyoungman01 06:48, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Greens Articles for Deletion
Do you have an opinion on this: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_Kaye?
We seem to be reaching a consensus on keeping John Kaye and David Risstrom but there is mixed support for Jenny Leong (personally, I don't think Jenny needs a page).
Just thought you might like to have your say, if you hadn't already seen it. Nick 14:06, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Funding agreements in the VSU article.
Thanks for pointing that out - the SRC has pdfs of past issues, so to meet verifiability requirements, especially for such a contentious issue, we should link to the pdf of the relevant issue. However, that still doesn't answer the question of the truth of the statement with regards to the other universities. enochlau (talk) 01:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox
Not sure if you're interested but I copied the old Australian Greens userbox template into User:Orderinchaos78/Userboxes/User Aus GRN - if you want to use it, feel free. Orderinchaos78 05:41, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
