The article makes no reference to the fact Bramall Lane is now often referred to as "Beautiful downtown Bramall Lane" - I don't know who is responsible for that name (I think prematch announcer Gary Sinclair started calling it that), but it's become a common nickname.

Online, it tends to be abbreviated to BDTBL. It's a very Sheffield joke in many ways - there's nothing terribly beautiful about the lane, and "downtown" makes it sound like it's in some stylish quarter of Sheffield or something. 83.67.74.208 12:43, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Building Work Photo/s

I removed the photo simply becuase the building work has now been completed, and so, the photo is now out of date, and no longer applicable to the article. Hawksworthm 19:10, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Bramall Lane is a former good article candidate. There are suggestions below for which areas need improvement to satisfy the good article criteria. Once the objections are addressed, the article can be renominated as a good article. If you disagree with the objections, you can seek a review.

[edit] Failed "good article" nomination

This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of November 30, 2006, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: This piece was fairly well written, but clearly a direct cut and paste from EnglishPremier.Net thus violating copyright rules.
2. Factually accurate?: I'm sure it's accurate... but a cut and paste
3. Broad in coverage?: Thorough enough... but a cut and paste
4. Neutral point of view?: A bit biased towards Sheffield United
5. Article stability? Looks stable
6. Images?: Great images

When these issues are addressed, the article can be resubmitted for consideration. Thanks for your work so far. --Jazznutuva 17:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

I think that EnglishPremier.Net have copied from Wikipedia, and not the other way round. The article on EP.net is dated 31 July 2006 — long after most of the identical content was in place here. —JeremyA 18:21, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
EP.net is in no way an official website, and it would not surprise me in the slightest if they had indeed X&V from wiki (since wiki is a well-known site). But for this, would the article warrant GA status? OK, maybe a rewrite so it less pro-united (it is difficult to keep NPOV since we are all essentially writing about what we're interested in! I'll have a go anyway). L.J.SkinnerWOT?|CONTRIBS 21:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm not against you resubmitting for someone else's review... it's just what I saw. It is no doubt a well structured article and I applaud you for that. Good luck in the future. Jazznutuva 22:29, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
It's an unattributed mirror which carries copies of several football articles from Wikipedia, and claims its own copyright. I've listed it at WP:MIRROR and emailed a Standard GFDL violation letter to the contact address given by a WHOIS. Oldelpaso 23:02, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
