[edit] The Shooting

On Friday, December 10, 2004, B.S.S. lost one of its E.S.L. teachers. A fatal shooting in the school parking lot took the life of Mrs. Aysegul Candir. Her estranged husband tracked her down and shot her while she was walking towards her car. The school was in lockdown mode for nearly 4 hours while Peel Regional Police S.W.A.T. teams searched the school for the shooter. However, the shooter had never entered the school and was caught by police just down the road.[citation needed]
