[edit] Recoverable?
How is this thing RECOVERABLE if it is an aerial target drone? Only if they miss it, or how? Might be nice if somebody who knows elaborates within the article. Max robitzsch 11:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Designation-systems.net indicates that is has a parachute that is remote controlled. The defender would use a special missile to shoot at a recoverable target, one with a telemetry warhead instead of explosives. The defense missile telemetry unit radios data back to a ground unit that records that data for later analysis. The drone would become unusable only if the parachute failed, a ground unit was unable to find it after it landed (ie. sunk before recovered, they float too) or if the defense missile hit the target directly. Aerial defense missile use various types of warheads such as the Continuous-rod warhead or blast-fragment warhead and do not require a direct hit to kill the target. --Dual Freq 14:13, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
