Bozzio Levin Stevens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bozzio Levin Stevens is a power trio of rock, fusion, jazz and instrumental classical music that combines the talents of three of the most recognized and famous players in the rock world.

Terry Bozzio (drums) had played with Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Steve Vai and many others and today is considered a revolutionary drummer, who extended the percussion language with his composition for solo drums.

Tony Levin (bass), a respected session man, is famous for his work with Peter Gabriel and King Crimson as a straight member, but had an interesting career as sideman of many and diverse ranges of artists. Tony popularized the use of the Chapman Stick and the bass played with drumsticks in his fingers.

Steve Stevens (guitar) is perhaps less renowned, but got his fame thanks to his longtime collaboraton with the rocker Billy Idol, one of the most successful singers of the 1980s. Steve plays everything in the guitar from rock to flamenco, and his ability and flashy style can be heard in all it's power on the two albums that the trio has released.

Black Light Syndrome (1997) and Situation Dangerous (2000) featured very strong and complex songs, and show a musicianship that is unusual in recent times. The label Magna Carta, specializing in progressive rock and fusion bands, released those albums and the trio was met with appreciative surprise. The trio have not yet gone on any supporting tours.
