From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Boz Boorer (b. Martin James Boorer, May 19, 1962 in Edgware, Middlesex) is a guitarist who composes music for Morrissey. He is one of Morrissey's main co-songwriters, along with Alain Whyte. Boorer was a member of the rockabilly band The Polecats during the early 1980s. He has also released solo material and worked with other artists, including Adam Ant, Kirsty MacColl, Joan Armatrading, Jools Holland, and Edwyn Collins.
Like Whyte, Boorer joined Morrissey in 1991 when the singer assembled a new band. Boorer played guitar on the singles "Pregnant for the Last Time" and "My Love Life." The first album to appear that included his contributions was Your Arsenal. Along with Whyte, he is credited with successfully synthesizing jangle pop and American rockabilly to create a new sound for Morrissey that helped to revitalize his career.
