- Boystown is the popular name of the northside Chicago, Illinois neighborhood of Lakeview, Chicago. It is the first officially recognized gay village in the United States, center of one of the largest gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities in the nation and popular throughout the Midwest for its nightlife. Its boundaries are generally considered Addison to the north, Halstead to the west, Belmont to the south, and Lake Shore Drive to the east.
