Boylan Catholic High School

Boylan Catholic High School is a private Catholic school in the city of Rockford, Illinois. Opened in 1960, Boylan is Rockford's only Catholic high school, currently consisting with a student body of 1279. Boylan has received several academic accolades throughout its 45-year history. Most notably, the school has thrice won the Blue Ribbon School Award from the US Department of Education, a feat matched by just twenty-eight other schools nationwide. Boylan offers a high quality education one of the better sports programs in Rockford and northern Illinois and is high (top 28) in rank in the nation.

Advanced Placement:
- In 2004, 113 sophomores, juniors and seniors took AP tests in eight subject areas. 90% of the tests merited college placement or advanced placement. One of the most recent 5's was awarded to Seth Palmer who also recieved excellence in European Hisotry.
- 94% of Boylan graduates have gone on to post-secondary education.

Boylan belongs to the NIC-9 Conference. Student athletes are required to abide by all school and IHSA eligibility standards. There are 21 boys' and girls' teams as well as freshman, sophomore and varsity cheerleading and sophomore and varsity pom pons.

The faculty is comprised of 37 laymen, 50 laywomen, 6 priests, and 2 nuns. All faculty hold baccalaureate degrees and state certification. 61% hold advanced degrees on the Master or Doctorate level. Boylan has a 13:1 calculated student-faculty ratio.
