This is a keyboard instrument that I've only seen mentioned in old books. I hope this article inspires someone to build one and record it so I can finally hear what it sounds like.

C. P. E. Bach said he was disappointed that the instrument didn't catch on.

I'll remember to add to this article when I can. I'm sure all the good source material is in German, though.
