Bowl used for smoking marijuana

Bowl is used by smokers of cannabis to indicate one of two different things:

The bowl-shaped receptacle in which marijuana is placed prior to smoking which forms part of a marijuana pipe or bong. It can also be used to refer to the removable slide found in many bongs.
The quantity of marijuana necessary to fill this receptacle. As the size of these receptacles will vary depending on what the marijuana is being smoked through, this is not an exact measure. One bowl of mid-grade marijuana usually costs about $2 USD.

How to Use

One must hold the mouthpiece to his/her mouth, and have a lighter in the other hand.
With the hand holding the bowl, one must put his/her index finger over the hole on the side of the bowl. Known by many names, including "carb," "Rush-Hole" and "choke," this hole is used for ventilation. Most blown-glass bowls are double-blown.
Inhale while lighting the cannabis and holding the index finger over the hole: remove finger if more ventilation is desired.
