Talk:Bouffon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The section entirely removed made no sense in English -- the generalization about the purpose and result of Bouffon --

"The ideal performance for a bouffon would be one where the audience is wildly entertained, and then go home, realize their lives are meaningless, and commit suicide. This of course is a theoretical ideal instead of an anticipated outcome."

-- that needs re-thinking / re-working, also citation to some source which describes the need for a sense of "suicide"(?) as a result of all this... Interesting article, but sounds pretty far-out in this abbreviated form so far. Needs better links to the guy in Germany who teaches this nowadays as a theatrical technique: cites to his work, particularly. Also needs historical sections about court jesters, grotesquerie, King of Fools, other related.
