I grow up here (born 1975) The city has nothing to do with industry anymore (same as the whole region..) Today it is just a city with one "minor" attraction, a indoor skiplace. Nice city, but nothing really special. Nice "family" big Forest & some lakes around. Just close to the center of the "ruhrgebiet" area. 11/2004

I live here. Here are some special things, eg. the movie park germany, the new "Südring center" and the josef-albers museum!

I agree, that now bottrop has nothing to do with industry, but the region is influenced by it!

I know here is a big industry. I come from Bottrop and I know it.
