Boston vs. New York Poker Challenge

Boston vs. New York Poker Challenge is a television program on both the YES Network and NESN, sponsored by PartyPoker.net. It is a unique take on the much-hyped rivalry between Boston and New York, mainly because of the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees rivalry, which has swelled in recent years.

There are six players chosen from each city, which each "match" of poker being played between three Boston players and three New York players. Depending on where a player finishes in a match, they are awarded a certain amount of points. Points are calculated cumulatively. The top 3 players from each team automatically reach the final table. A final match is played to determine which two players get their respective "wild card" seats in the final table, one from each city. Once the seats have been set, the number of total points that a player has determines how many chips they will have at the final table (ex. 16 points becomes 160,000 chips).

Season one of the show was dominated by New York for most of the season, but in the end Boston finally them and won both the team championship, and the individual championship.

Season two is currently being aired. It is guest hosted by Adam Schoenfeld, who played for New York in season one.
