Boss Volenti
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Boss Volenti are a Dublin-based rock quartet who formed in 2003. Their heroes range from such artists as Thin Lizzy and Al Green to Led Zeppelin and Hall & Oates. Rob Daly and Dan O'Connor first met while playing in bands around Dublin. Then followed Laura Mackey, who Dan met while both were studying guitar at college. Drummer Graham Hopkins got wind of the Boss Volenti sound and when he joined, all the pieces of the puzzle slotted into place.
In February of this year, Boss Volenti independently released their first single 'Deeper Than Deep' and it went straight into the Irish top 40. They then released their second single 'Ain't no Use' in June to even greater success. It received heavy daytime airplay, was playlisted by 2fm, championed by Tony Fenton on Today FM and regularly played on BBC NI Radio. Both singles are still playlisted on Dublin's Phantom FM.
The band have an enviable reputation for their live performances and are fast becoming one of the most exciting live acts around.
Boss Volenti released their eponymous debut album on September 8th. Full of catchy riffs and stomping grooves, it is a sound completely of their own.
