[edit] Second-most recognizable North American sports trophy?

I'm deleting this reference - not only is it unsourced and unsupported, it's absurd on its face.

  • Although I was not the one who wrote it originally, I think I read that somewhere...I agree it is absurd. The source must have been an uninformed/biased source.

[edit] Johnnie Parsons

I am quite curious about this facet because on a previous trip to the IMS Museum (early/mid 1990s), I specifically recall seeing that Parsons' name had been corrected (during the fall 1991 restoration). But it could have been a memory lapse. I made an effort to stop by the museum in May of 2006 during race weekend to check the trophy and see Parsons' name on it, but the trophy had been removed from display that afternoon so I couldn't see it. I think it would be very important for someone to track down this once and for all by visiting the museum and taking a photograph for proof purposes. Doctorindy 19:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
