Borrisokane

Borrisokane (Buiríos Uí Chéin in Irish) is a small town in North Tipperary, Ireland, with a growing population in 1996 of approximately 850. It is centrally situated north of Nenagh, south of Portumna and Birr. Close by is the scenic lake Lough Derg.

Borrisokane is very close to the 8W and 53N line intersection.

As part of the 2003 Special Olympics, Borrisokane hosted Korea.

It is also hometown to John Gleeson, the "sixth" member in the original line up of international pop group Westlife.
